Behncke Construction completed a full foundation wall rebuild on a home in Davenport, Iowa. Our crew removed and replaced a 28-foot section of concrete block (CMU) foundation wall, poured a new concrete footing to carry the load, and installed a new 28-foot sill plate to restore the connection between the foundation and the home’s framing. Inside, the team rebuilt damaged areas of a stone partition wall using salvaged stone from the home’s original foundation and finished it with a fresh parge coat.

What we did

This was a structural foundation replacement, not a surface patch. The failing 28-foot CMU foundation wall was taken down and rebuilt on a new concrete footing. A new 28-foot sill plate was set so the home’s weight transfers cleanly onto the new masonry. On the interior, our masons rebuilt the damaged sections of the original stone partition wall, reusing salvaged stone from the home’s own foundation so the repair matched the surrounding stonework, then applied a new parge coat for a smooth, durable finish.
