Project overview

The Keller Williams office in Bettendorf had a parking lot that was structurally sound but showing its age: open cracks running across the pavement and a surface that had oxidized to grey. The crew hot-kettle crack-filled the lot and then sealcoated it.

Work continued into the evening to get the whole lot coated, and it reopened with a clean, uniform black finish.

Project details

Hot kettle crack filling uses a hot-applied rubberized sealant that flows into the crack and stays flexible as the pavement moves with temperature. It keeps water from entering the cracks, which is what prevents freeze-thaw damage from spreading underneath.

Once the cracks were sealed, the crew sprayed commercial-grade asphalt sealer across the lot and worked it in by squeegee along the edges. Sealcoating protects the asphalt against oxidation, sunlight and everyday wear while restoring a professional appearance.
