Concrete Driveway Replacement — Moline, Illinois
Concrete Driveway Replacement — Moline, Illinois
The problem
A repeat customer’s aging concrete driveway in Moline, Illinois had reached the end of its service life and had begun causing problems by the garage.
How we diagnosed it
Looking at the approach to the garage, our crew found the existing footing extended too high for a new driveway to be poured correctly over the top. A simple overlay would have left improper elevations and a short-lived repair.
Our solution
We carefully removed the old concrete, then saw-cut and lowered the footing several inches so the new driveway could be installed correctly over the top — an extra step that helps create a longer-lasting repair while maintaining proper elevations. The project also included replacing the sidewalk leading to the front porch and tuckpointing deteriorated brick on the corner of the garage, giving the property a clean, finished appearance. As with every concrete project, we finished the new driveway with a high-quality cure and seal to help protect the concrete while it cures and improve long-term durability.

What makes our approach different
Most contractors would simply pour a new driveway over the existing high footing. We take the extra time to saw-cut and lower the footing first, so the new concrete sits at the correct elevation and lasts. Since 1948, we’ve believed quality workmanship is always worth the extra effort.
