Egress Window Installation — Rock Island, Illinois
Egress Window Installation — Rock Island, Illinois
The project
We recently completed another egress window installation in Rock Island, and like most of our projects, we hand dug the excavation instead of bringing in heavy equipment.
How we approached it
Hand digging takes more time, but it helps protect underground utility lines, sprinkler systems, landscaping, and the customer’s lawn. It also allows us to work with greater precision around the foundation. For this project, we also rerouted the sump discharge to ensure everything functioned properly with the new installation.
Why an egress window
An egress window does more than satisfy building code. It provides a safe emergency exit, lets in natural light, improves ventilation, and can make a basement feel like true living space.
Methods used
- Hand-dug excavation
- Egress window installation
- Sump discharge rerouting
- Precision foundation work
What makes our approach different
Since 1948, Behncke Construction has believed that doing the job carefully is just as important as doing it right. On this project that meant hand digging to protect the customer’s utilities, sprinkler lines, landscaping, and lawn. If you’re considering an egress window, we’d be happy to provide an honest evaluation and explain your options.
